JNF has as its primary goals the development and
conservation of land for the benefit of the Jewish people, the
maintenance of Israel's environment and the improvement of the
quality of life in Israel. Some of JNFs contributions include
200 million trees over an area of 800,000 dunams of planted
forests, 400,000 dunams of natural woodlands and more than 20
reservoirs.
In Australia, the JNF undertakes extensive
promotional campaigns to raise funds for projects and to
increase community responsiveness to its work. Special Zionist,
ecological and other educational programs are designed to ensure
JNF continuity into the future. The JNF commenced activities in
Australia in the early 1900s and is considered the most
successful Blue Box collection country in the world returning
over 80% of the monies collected back to Israel.
JNF promotes the greening the State of Israel through the
creation, improvement and maintenance of forests and the
preservation of natural landscapes and open spaces.
JNF helps in land development, conservation and reclamation,
including in rural and arid areas.
JNF leads the way in conservation and expansion of water
resources, drainage and rehabilitation of river systems, for the
good of Israel and the entire region.
